Thieves Used Techniques They Learned From “The Town” To Carry Out Robberies

A group of four thieves used techniques that they picked up from the 2010 Ben Affleck film, The Town, to carry out a series of robberies in Brooklyn and Queens, namely pouring bleach over the cash registers and ATM machines to erase any traces of their DNA. Guess they didn’t see how that movie ended, huh?

Their crime spree lasted about 14 months, during which they were able to hit up about 61 businesses and got away with laptop computers and over $217,000 in cash. Four men have been arrested for involvement with the crimes, and a fifth suspect has been identified by police.
